:: Exotic Fever Ten Year Anniversary ::

Hey everyone,

I am extremely proud to announce that this July marks a full decade of Exotic Fever, rounded out with our 40th release. Ten years ago Bonnie founded the label to put out the work of our dearly departed friend Clark Sabine in his band The Halo Project. We sold a small run of those CDs, then moved on to a replicated version of her project halflight. This label then attracted Sara Klemm to put out the DC Area Books to Prisons benefit compilation and zine for the burgeoning activist group she was organizing. We were surprised that people were interested in what we were doing, and grateful we had a formula that seemed to make sense - music that inspired us made by people who inspired us in pursuit of a world that inspired us.

A lot has changed since then, but the slew of artists we are putting out this year continues to thrill me: M.G. Lederman (formerly of Victory at Sea) in Boston, Ultra Dolphins in Richmond, and Thank God from South Carolina. We have worked hard as the music climate has shifted to remain true to our focus as well as accessible and relevant.

So, like all good girls do after they work super hard, now it is time to party.

Mark your calendars for JULY 3, SATURDAY, at Kung Fu NeckTie in Philadelphia. Show is slated for 6pm and will have giveaways and a party vibe. Confirmed thusfar:

M. G. Lederman

Little Gold

Pygmylush

Liza Kate

Elliott

Ultra Dolphins/Gull

Resin Hits

and more surprises in store.

The new THANK GOD lp is now available to order on our website as well, and expect extensive touring from the band this summer. The DASH benefit compilation will be out by the end of the year.

Thank you for supporting this and inspiring me. Projects like this only have longevity when they have the support and nurturing of communities they are part of, and we have been extremely lucky in that regard. Special thanks to Dischord, Stickfigure, and 230 Publicity.

XO,

KO
